The “Bulgaria-Turkey Haute Couture Fashion Show,” showcasing the designs of Bulgarian designer Ivan Donev, took place at Divan Çukurhan.
HOSTED by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Ankara, Anguel Tcholakov, the event was attended by ambassadors, foreign mission representatives, and numerous guests. In his opening speech, Ambassador Tcholakov expressed, “It is a great honor to welcome you all this evening, celebrating fashion, music, beauty, and above all, Bulgarian-Turkish friendship.” He shared that he met designer Ivan Donev over a decade ago during the International Young Designer Award event.
A COLLECTION MADE FROM LACES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Ambassador Tcholakov mentioned that months ago, Donev called for the project titled “From the Golden Hands of Our Grandmothers,” where laces from Bulgaria and various parts of the world were sent to Donev. He further noted that some of the works from this project were showcased during the event, emphasizing that the fashion show was a symbol of the friendship between the two countries.
4 DIFFERENT CREATIONS
The fashion show, featuring four unique collections specially created by Ivan Donev, was met with great interest. Designs, titled ‘White Painting,’ ‘Black Painting,’ ‘Golden Painting,’ and ‘Painting of Experiences,’ were presented by models. The designs dedicated to the Bulgarian and Turkish firefighters who participated in the rescue efforts during the February 6th earthquakes received a standing ovation.
