A VIBRANT CELEBRATION AT THE INDONESIAN FESTIVAL

As part of the independence celebrations, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Ankara organized the ‘Indonesian Festival.’ The festival featured mini concerts, and dance performances, and showcased local Indonesian products at various stands.

THE event was hosted by the Ambassador of Indonesia, Achmad Rizal Purnama, at the Indonesian Embassy in Oran. More than 1,500 visitors attended the festival, including Indonesians living in Turkiye, and Turkish locals. In his opening speech, Ambassador Purnama said that 79 years had passed since Indonesia gained independence. Indonesia aims to become a developed nation by 2045 under the vision of “Golden Indonesia” and contribute more to shaping a world order based on justice and prosperity.

CULTURAL PERFORMANCES

The festival featured sports competitions, mini-games, a marketplace offering delicacies from Indonesian cuisine, and cultural performances by Indonesian student associations from Ankara, İstanbul, Sakarya, Sivas, and Kütahya. Additionally, famous Indonesian singer Eka Alexis performed at the event. Turkish singers Pelin Aslı, Erdem, and Kürşat, who had previously participated in a singing competition in Indonesia, performed Indonesian songs.
