BRAZIL CELEBRATED IT’S NATIONAL DAY

Brazil celebrated its National Day with a reception at CerModern in Ankara. Hosted by Brazil’s Ambassador, Carlos Martins Ceglia, the event was attended by Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Ayşe Berris Ekinci, numerous ambassadors, representatives of foreign missions, and distinguished guests.

THE reception, hosted by Ambassador Carlos Martins Ceglia, his wife Anastasia Ceglia, and Brazilian diplomats, began with the Turkish and Brazilian national anthems performed by the Turkish Armed Forces Band.

PROMISING RELATIONS

In his speech, Ambassador Ceglia highlighted the friendly and promising bilateral relations between Brazil and Turkey. He noted that Brazilian companies continue to invest in Turkiye, emphasizing, “Turkey is like a magnet for Brazilian tourists.” He also mentioned that there are currently 11 flights per week between Istanbul and São Paulo, with plans to increase this number. Ambassador Ceglia pointed out that Turkish culture is highly appreciated in Brazil, with many Brazilian artists, writers, and musicians participating in festivals and seminars in Turkiye. He also reminded attendees that Brazil has taken over the G20 presidency and shared that Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva aims to foster global unity to combat poverty and hunger.

A GATEWAY TO SOUTH AMERICA

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat described Brazil as a gateway to South America and added “We aim to strengthen our economic relations. Brazil is our largest trading partner among Latin American and Caribbean countries. Turkey and Brazil, have overcome numerous challenges in the past. We became two of the world’s leading emerging economies and contributed significantly to global politics and the economy. Also, the popularity of Turkish TV series in Brazil has helped strengthen cultural ties between the two countries, fostering a favorable environment for mutual understanding and friendship.”

The evening featured a performance by the Muzenza Capoeira group, and DJ Demirabi added vibrancy to the reception with Brazilian music.
