In his opening speech, Ambassador Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh emphasized the deep cultural, historical, and civilizational ties between Iran and Turkiye. He said, “The two countries have always had exceptional relations among the regional nations. In this context, 2025 has been declared the ‘Iran-Turkish Cultural Year,’ offering a valuable opportunity to deepen cultural, scientific, and educational cooperation between the two peoples. The economic interactions between our countries are also on an upward trend. The trade volume between the two countries is steadily increasing toward 30 billion dollars, thanks to the mutual use of capacities. Iran and Turkiye have complementary economies. Therefore, more constructive and comprehensive cooperation can be established in energy, industry, agriculture, road and rail transportation, joint investment in infrastructure projects, tourism, and other economic sectors. The unique geopolitical position of Iran and Turkiye has made these two countries a bridge connecting the east and west of the world.”

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan also emphasized that Turkiye is the window to the West for Iran, and Iran is the window to the East for Turkiye. He stated, “It is in the interest of the region, the Islamic world, and even the entire global community for Turkiye and Iran to establish strong relations and engage in close dialogue. Mutual high-level visits and bilateral cooperation mechanisms are the most important indicators of our friendship. The High-Level Cooperation Council we established in 2014 has strengthened the institutional framework of these relations. In the upcoming period, steps will be taken to further strengthen cooperation between our countries with the Ninth Meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council, which is planned to be held in Iran under the co-chairmanship of our Presidents. Especially in the face of issues that threaten the peace, stability, and security of our region, such as the suffering and massacre of our brothers in Palestine, it is more important than ever to continue our cooperation effectively. Our Syrian brothers have caught a historic opportunity for stability, prosperity, and security in their country. We must support the Syrian people in this process. All these factors make the relations between Turkiye and Iran extremely special.”
