Representatives from Türkiye’s tourism sector had the opportunity to explore Guatemala through a familiarization trip organized by the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its Embassy in Türkiye.
AS part of the tour, organized in collaboration with the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT) and Turkish Airlines, Turkish tourism representatives had the chance to discover the country’s main tourist destinations, including the Tikal archaeological site, Lake Atitlan, and Antigua Guatemala. This event, showcasing Guatemala’s natural and cultural wealth, aims to promote closer ties between the tourism sectors of the two countries and strengthen air connections that facilitate tourist flow between Guatemala and Türkiye.
A business forum was held as part of the program, with t he Ambassador of Türkiye in Guatemala, Beliz Celasin, and the Ambassador of Guatemala in Türkiye, Eduardo Hernández, in attendance. The meeting brought together tourism agencies from both countries to promote Guatemala’s tourism and cultural opportunities to travelers from Türkiye and to encourage experience sharing.
CULTURAL EXCHANGE
Regarding the event, Ambassador Hernández said: “This joint effort reflects the commitment of Türkiye and Guatemalan authorities, along with the private sector, to continue working together to create new opportunities for tourism promotion and to strengthen bilateral relations in the economic and cultural fields. Cooperation in the tourism sector is a strategic pillar for both countries, as it creates economic and cultural ties that benefit our economies and enrich cultural exchange between our nations.”
