As part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Republic, the final play of the “Yüzyıllık Destan” (Centennial Epic) series, titled “Bayrak” (Flag), premiered at the Akün Stage, presented by the Ankara State Theater.
The play, which brings the Republic’s achievements and struggle for freedom to the stage, received widespread acclaim from art enthusiasts. Following the performance, the cast, technical team, and creative staff were met with a lengthy standing ovation.
The premiere of “Bayrak” was attended by the General Director and Chief Artistic Director of the State Theaters, Tamer Karadağlı, along with Deputy General Directors Sükun Işıtan and İbrahim Aktürk, and was also witnessed by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu.
Written by Haluk Özenç, supervised by Barış Erdenk, and directed by Sibel Erdenk, the play features Mustafa Kemal Atatürk portrayed by Emre Başer, the Deputy General Director of the State Theaters. The trilogy, which includes “Ateş” (Fire), “Savaş” (War), and “Bayrak,” will continue to meet audiences across Turkey throughout the season.
