THE two-day event, held at Başkent Millet Bahçesi, was inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam and the UAE Ambassador Said Sani Al Zahiri. In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Çam emphasized that preserving and sustaining various cultural riches from the past has become even more significant in the 21st century. He stated, “In a world where cultural richness is disappearing and uniformity and standardization are being enforced, these events will contribute to further enhancing the cultural wealth of countries.” Çam continued his remarks by saying, “It is crucial for nations and people to truly get to know each other by experiencing, sharing friendships, eating together, listening to each other’s music, and feeling all their cultural richness.”

THE IMPORTANCE OF STRONG STATES

Çam highlighted the value of efforts to maintain and promote peace, stating, “It is essential for powerful, capable, and competent states and countries to be active in this region. Therefore, the success of all the states actively involved in this region, especially the United Arab Emirates, and their efforts towards establishing peace are invaluable.”

DEEP CULTURAL TIES

Ambassador Zahiri emphasized that the event sheds light on the deep cultural ties and common values connecting the two peoples, providing an important opportunity to share knowledge and foster understanding about their heritages.

A BRIDGE BETWEEN PEOPLES

Zahiri noted that relations between the UAE and Türkiye have significantly developed in recent years, with growing cooperation in various fields such as trade, economy, education, and culture. While celebrating the diversity and richness of cultures, he highlighted that culture is one of the fundamental elements in building bridges between peoples.

The festival featured exhibitions reflecting UAE art, delicacies, folk dances, and musical performances. At the festival’s closing, various competitions were held, and gifts were presented to the winners.
