78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

India’s 78th Independence Day was celebrated in Ankara with the participation of Indian citizens, academics, and representatives from non-governmental organizations living in the capital, among many other guests.

THE event at the Indian Embassy in Ankara was attended by Alpana Dubey, Deputy Head of Mission of India, foreign and Turkish diplomats, Indian citizens residing in Turkiye, and many other guests. The celebration began with the reading of India’s National Anthem and the hoisting of the Indian flag.

PROGRESS IN BILATERAL RELATIONS

Dubey began her speech by reading a message from Indian President Droupadi Murmu on Independence Day. She paid tribute to those who contributed to India’s independence and highlighted the country’s progress over the past 78 years. Dubey emphasized India’s rapid economic development, particularly in science and technology. She also noted the historical ties between Turkey and India, highlighting the importance of trade and humanitarian relations. Dubey expressed India’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Turkey in trade, investment, and tourism, and voiced her belief that bilateral relations will continue to grow.
