FRANCE CELEBRATED 14TH OF JULY

France’s National Day was marked with a reception at the French Embassy, where Ambassador Isabelle Dumont joined the Tevfik Fikret High School Jazz Orchestra for a saxophone performance.

THE reception, hosted by France’s Ambassador to Ankara, Isabelle Dumont, took place in the embassy garden and was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci, numerous ambassadors, and over a thousand guests. The event began with the national anthems of France and Turkiye, performed by the Tevfik Fikret High School Jazz Orchestra. Following the anthems, guests enjoyed a buffet of food and drinks, with the orchestra performing again. Ambassador Dumont, known for her talent in playing various instruments, joined the orchestra on stage and impressed the audience by playing the saxophone and accompanying a song.

Isabelle Dumont played the saxophone and accompanied the Tevfik Fikret High School Jazz Orchestra during the evening.

In her speech, Ambassador Dumont emphasized that July 14th celebrates historic events and core values. She noted that the principles of equality, fraternity, and popular sovereignty have grown beyond France, becoming a source of pride for all. On Turkey-France relations, Dumont stressed the importance of ongoing, open dialogue on regional and global issues.
