FRANCE’S NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATED

France’s National Day was celebrated with a reception held at the French Embassy. During the evening, Ambassador Isabelle Dumont played the saxophone alongside the Tevfik Fikret High School Jazz Orchestra.

THE reception, hosted by France’s Ambassador to Ankara, Isabelle Dumont, took place in the embassy garden. It was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci, numerous ambassadors, and over a thousand guests. The event began with the national anthems of France and Turkey, performed by the Tevfik Fikret High School Jazz Orchestra. Following this, the evening continued with a buffet of food and drinks, with the orchestra performing again. Ambassador Dumont took the stage with the orchestra and played the saxophone, accompanying a song. Known for her talent in playing various instruments, Ambassador Dumont impressed the audience with her performance.

HISTORIC VALUES

In her speech, Ambassador Dumont stated that July 14th is a day of celebrating historic events and values. She emphasized that these values, rooted in the principles of equality, fraternity, and the sovereignty of the people, have gained even more significance, extending far beyond French borders to become a source of pride and a celebration for everyone, not just the French. Touching on Turkey-France relations, Dumont noted that sincere and open dialogue on regional and global issues continues and stressed the importance of ongoing exchanges on these matters.
