Brazil’s ‘Independence Day’ also known as ‘Sete de Setembro’ was celebrated with a reception held at CerModern. Capoeira dance show and a DJ performance enlivened the evening, which was attended by many representatives of foreign missions.

The reception was hosted by Brazilian Ambassador to Ankara Carlos Martins Ceglia and his wife Anastasia Martins Ceglia. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the European Union (EU) Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yaprak Balkan, as well as many ambassadors and guests participated in the event. “I am sure that like-minded countries like Brazil and Turkey will do more to contribute to peace, stability and development globally,” Bozay said.

The capoeira group Muzenza Turkey performed a dance show.

TURKEY IS LIKE A MAGNET FOR BRAZILIANS

Ambassador Ceglia stated that the Republic of Turkey is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and said, “This is a turning point in the development of this great nation. We have a lot to be proud of and we hope that Brazilian companies will continue to invest in this country.” Ceglia also said that Turkey is a ‘magnet’ for Brazilian tourists.
