The Embassy of the State of Qatar hosted a reception celebrating Qatar’s National Day at the JW Marriott Hotel in Ankara.
The reception hosted by Qatari Ambassador Salim Mübarek Al Şafi and attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Development Lütfi Elvan, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci and many other ambassadors and distinguished guests.
IMPORTANT FOR STABILITY OF THE REGION
Mehmet Şimşek stressed that relations between Qatar and Turkey were excellent, and there had been strong momentum in trade and bilateral investments. He expressed his belief in a better future between Qatar and Turkey and said: “Our bilateral trade and investments will reach higher levels. 2017 was a year of extreme difficulties, but by cooperating with Qatar, we managed to eliminate the conspiracy against it and work together towards the stability, peace, and order for the region. Considering the unfortunate decision taken by the United States regarding Jerusalem there is a need for solidarity and cooperation in the Islamic world. Qatar and Turkey shall continue to walk hand-in-hand for the peace and welfare in the region. Our countries are mostly similar, and there is a strong rapport between us. I believe that this is for the good of the region and humanity.”
